Jewellery Trends Of Celebs At Met Gala 2019
An annual fundraising gala at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume’s Institute of New York City better known
as the Met Gall or the Met Ball is one of the most awaited parties of the year
for both celebrities and common folk alike. This is the one night in the year
where Fashion, Jewellery, Shoe and Makeup designers alike can truly shine and
showcase their expertise as well as their ingenuity. The celebrities who choose
them are decked out in a unique fashion that was never before seen according to
the ever changing Met Gala theme.
This year the theme for the Gala was
‘Camp: Notes on Fashion.’ This particular theme allowed the people to go wild
with their dresses and truly immerse themselves in the uniqueness of life and
fashion. This theme also gave leeway to celebrities for wearing as much
jewellery as they wanted. It could be subtle and it could be outrageous
depending on their clothes, mood and choices.
Show-stopping Met Gala Jewellery
Trends of 2019
1. Jennifer Lopez: Called by her fans
as J. Lo, Jennifer Lopez walked the red carpet draped from head to toe in diamonds.
She wore 8.8$ million worth of Harry Winston jewellery along with a purple
dragon necklace, a pair of vintage 1972 chandelier earrings and a special cut
bracelet and rings. J. Lo shined like no other star did on this fateful day.
She truly embodied the call the fashion and woman’s love of diamonds by her
choice of dress and jewellery.
2. Bella Hadid: This classic beauty
appeared to the show in a beautifully elegant black Moschino gown paired with
one of the most extravagant pieces of accessory. The beautiful Bella wore
Lorraine Schwartz earrings that consisted of Emeralds of over 90 carats. Not
only was Bella wearing the Emerald earrings her dress was also edged with
diamonds which spanned across her bodice, neck, lower back as well as her
elegantly gloved hands.
3. Awkwafina: This Golden Girl was true to her name and appeared in a fully
golden, almost molten dress with a set of Bvlgari serpentine earrings. She
paired the earrings with a Diva’s Dream ring and the complete look wowed her
fans away. The Golden Girl look phenomenal and everyone knew it!
4. Gal Gadot: The former Fast and Furious star and current Wonder Woman Gal Gadot
came to the Met Gala with the appearance of an angel. This actress chose Givenchy
to dress her up for the evening and Givenchy did not disappoint! They made her
look like an absolute angel and coupled with the pearl and crystal ornamental
headset, Gal also has a Halo to go with her angelic attire.
5. Janelle Monae: When the term eye popping comes to mind, so will Janelle Monae
comes to mind now, especially after her iconic sense of fashion was portrayed
on the Met Gala Red Carpet. To go along with her Hi-tech, eye popping dress,
Janelle also adorned herself with Hanut Singh Starburst earrings.
6. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas: This power couple was the talk of the
night! Since the Met Gala was where the power couple met for the first time,
that particular evening in 2019 was essentially their anniversary. Everyone was
curious to see what style the couple would choose and if it would meet
expectations. They definitely did! Nick and Priyanka were one of the most
outrageously dressed and harmonised couples in attendance. Priyanka was even
more fabulous since she was adorned with pink sapphire briolettes, 3 pendant
necklaces from the Happy diamond collection, and a multitude of jewellery from
the haute collection. While Nick himself was decked out in a pear shaped
diamond necklace, stunning ring from the Green carpet collection and last but
not least an Imperiale collection timepiece. All of this was courtesy of Dior.
7. Winnie Harlow: Although many celebrities brought out the true meaning of ‘Camp:
Notes to Fashion’ in their dresses but none did it more spectacularly than
Winnie Harlow. Winnie chose to embody her Caribbean looks by featuring a House
of Malakai couture headpiece along with a Chopard diamond necklace, pear shaped
fancy yellow diamond rings, Chopard earrings as well as heart stopping ring
from the beautiful Imperiale collection.
8. Lady Gaga: The queen of bold fashion, Lady Gaga is always one of the highlights
at the Met Gala. This bodacious woman always manages to step so far out of the
box and still come out smelling like roses. Even her jewellery was daring!
Tiffany & Co. provided Lady Gaga with the latest BlueBook collection
necklace. This necklace was a silk like a thing with yellow gold butterflies
adorning the entirety of her collarbone. Lady Gaga also wore a Tiffany T true
ring. This ring brought a certain flair and sophistication to the otherwise
outrageous Lady Gaga. What more could the common people ask for after all if
not Lady Gaga is absolutely outrageous.
The jewellery trends mentioned in
the list are just the cream of the surprises that encompassed the Met Gala this
fine year. Celebrities were decked out in all kinds of precious metals
including Gold. Gold and Silver were a particular favourite this year. The
people thought the Gold looked almost more ethereal than the silver. Gold
jewellery adorning the bodies of these famous beings was one of the highlights
of the Met Ball and one of the reasons we will tune in again next year to see
what new fashion awaits.
